Hey there. So, since I was observing No Housework Day yesterday, I had time to do some new layouts.
So, that's all I've got today. I have to get ready for a parent teacher conference this afternoon. Bye!

Happy No Housework Day! I fully intend to celebrate this one! LOL I really, REALLY despise housework and look on it as a necessary evil. In general I try to do as little of it as possible. I do what needs to be done but I'm not inclined to do anything extra and I sure don't do it with a smile. Actually, I have a bit of a system I use quite a lot. If I clean the bathroom, then I can scrap for 15 minutes. Do a load of laundry, read for 15 minutes. Gets me a little more excited about the housework. LOL
Anyway, I did plant my garden today. In the wind. Yuck! It's nice and sunny and pretty warm but the wind is blowing. DD helped me plant for a bit but then she got tired of the wind and called it a day. We are trying the square foot garden philosophy this year and I really hope it is more productive than last year's garden. We planted strawberries, zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers, peas, beets, green beans, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Tomorrow I'll plant the corn but I couldn't take the wind anymore, either, after planting all that. I'm hoping we get plenty of produce out of our garden this year because my friend and I want to can stuff. She has a recipe for pickled beets that she swears is the best ever. Maybe some cucumber pickles, too. Strawberry jam if we get enough berries. Yum! Yum! Yum!
So, I took some pics of a few of the cool treasures (rocks, but we think they are treasures LOL)
we found over the weekend. I'll share a few with you, though probably you won't be quite as excited about them as we are!
That last one we think might be a fossilized shell. Looks like it could be. Yesterday evening the kids and I went out to play. We had a few butterflies flitting about in the yard. The kids were really funny trying to catch one. I think they were attracted by our tree which you can see is blossoming.
Then in the second picture if you look at it enlarged and look at the top right of the window, you can see the butterfly DS was stalking. Unfortunately, (or fortunately for the butterflies) no butterflies were caught.
Well, that's today's goings on. Bye!

Hiya everyone! We spent yesterday out hunting for treasure again. We had another really nice day, sunny and warm but not hot. DH knew of a place near Grimes Point where there are flats that are covered in stones. When we got there and had just gotten out of the truck, the kids were already squealing in delight as they found immediately began finding treasures. The really cool thing about the flats is that the wind blows across them and polishes the rocks. So you can find smooth, polished rocks. I particularly liked the wonderstone I found there but we also found agate and that's what the kids liked best. Then DS wanted to go back to the place where we found nodules (geodes) before. We found lots more crystal filled nodules and eggs out there and I think I found a fossil of a sea shell! (This area was once under an ancient sea and it's common to find petrified coral) We had some lunch that we brought and then it was shootin' time. DS had great fun firing a 9mm, shotgun, and a .22. DD shot the 9mm but I think it scared her a bit and she didn't want to shoot anymore after that. I fired off the 9mm, .22, AR-15 and even the new Judge that DH had to have. I was a little nervous about shooting it as it's got quite a kick but I managed to do pretty well. So, I've got some pics to share. This first one DH set up. But I just couldn't do a mean face. I kept laughing too much. Note the shotgun shells in the hat band...
Note the ring around DS's mouth. Red Vines licorice. Well, anyway, that was our day. It was great fun. And if any of you come to visit we'll be happy to take you out to find your own treasures! Well, I better go get some things done here. Bye!

Hello. Well, the weather here has been a little crazy this last week. It was warm and nice, then it got cold and we got snow, now it's warm and nice again. Sheesh! Make up your mind! Anyway, we had a nice day today. We just went out exploring in the desert, near the Stillwater Range. There was a pretty big mining enterprise at one point and we searched through the dumps for treasure. We don't know what they mined there and all we really found was quartz. But we did discover right near there a pretty big pond, sort of hidden away. The kids had fun throwing rocks into it and the dog waded through some of it. He's a big goof. We decided to take him with us and it seems he's learned from his experience of being lost. He made sure he knew where we were at all times and didn't wander too far away. Along the way, we saw a cows, wild horses (with a baby!), jackrabbits and a couple of cottontails as well. Saw deer tracks at a watering hole but didn't actually see any deer. It was just a really nice day. Good to get outside and get out in the sun a bit.
I have some pictures from the cookie decorating the other day to share.
Well, I guess that's all for now. Talk atcha later!

Yeah, so everyone can relax I'll let you know that the previous post was just an April Fool's Day joke. We are NOT moving to Guam. At least that I know of. If so, the joke's on me! LOL If you were at my house today you'd have gotten blue water out of the faucet, found an apple with a gummy worm in it, and opened a bag of Cheetos to find carrots instead! Aren't I just the funny one? Happy April Fool's!
Hello again. So, DH came home unexpectedly this morning. Turns out he had some news. Looks like we will have to move again. To Guam. Yeah, I know. What the heck!? Apparently they need someone there ASAP and DH volunteered. (Thanks a lot) But supposedly he's practically guaranteed a promotion by taking it. I've never been to Guam but DH has and he said it's really nice. Lush and green. Ever since he was there he's been telling me how he thinks I should visit and that I'd really like it. I guess I get to now! And just as I was getting used to Nevada. I just don't even know what to think right now. Still trying to absorb it. I gotta go Google Guam...

Yeah, so I was looking forward to playing around with my new mosaic program today but I was so busy I just didn't get to it. There was no school for DS today and we had our friends across the street over to decorate sugar cookies. Yum! And DS had his second T ball practice after dinner. Yesterday I took DD with me to his practice and she got to play at the park there where the fields are. Well, DS was wanting to play at the park after his practice but it was already almost dark so I promised him we'd go early today so he could play. Now, here in NV the park actually has a merry-go-round. Totally old school. Not like so many places nowadays that take them out because they are "too dangerous." That's something that I really like about this place. Merry-go-rounds are ok. And it's ok to bring in homemade treats to school. (Some places only allow store bought-like where we used to live in CA) Things like that. They haven't gotten so...I don't know...prissy and over zealous about things. Well, anyway, at the park my kids are drawn to the merry-go-round like flies to honey. They are spinning round and round and round and DS lets out a big whoop and yells, "I LOOOOOOVE THIS PARK!" It was the sound of pure, unadulterated joy. Kids being kids and having the time of their lives. What a magical moment. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my camera so I don't have a snapshot to share but I can tell you that that moment is vividly imprinted in my memory. I want to remember it forever.
Well, I'm ready to get myself into bed. Bye!
