See, I am doing better at this blogging! So, today the kids were invited to a birthday party at the local skating rink. Neither one has really had any experience at skating so Hubby and I both got out there to help the kids out. You know, it's been a VERY long time since I've skated and I don't think I did too bad. The first couple of laps were a little dicey and I did fall on my butt (only once!) but by the end I was feeling pretty confident. The kids gave it a go but got a little discouraged that they couldn't keep their balance. Big R decided to sit out of the rest of the skating but MoMo got back out there with her dad or me holding her hand and she started getting the hang of it. A bit more practice and she'll be zooming around the rink like the other kids there! Whew, there were some little 3 and 4 year olds zipping around and doing circles around us rusty old people!
Anyway, it was a fun outing and I'll let you know if I can walk tomorrow!

See! I promised I'd really try to blog more often! Two days in a row! Woo-hoo! :) Yesterday's videos seem to be a hit so I've got another one today. This one is the kids playing Rock Band with Big R on guitar and MoMo singing. Hubby was able to get this one without either of the kids noticing. See how sneaky we are? (insert maniacal laugh here) Great material for future teasing and embarrassment!

Sorry about the sideways nature of the video. Hubby forgot we don't know how to rotate the videos after they are shot but he did realize his mistake and then the video rotates to normal-at the end.
And what Big R tells his sister at the end is, "Pretty good...for a rookie!" Enjoy!

Happy April! And happy birthday to my brother, A! I know I've been MIA and I've been promising to try to do a better job blogging here. I apologize YET AGAIN! But today I have a little treat for you! Hubby introduced the kids to a You Tube video of Funky Town and, well, they've been practicing all the dance moves from said video. I was able to surreptitiously start filming them. You can see in the first video that MoMo noticed me filming after a bit and alerted Big R. It's so much better when they don't know they're being filmed! Anyway, here's part 1...

I really have no idea where they got their dancing talents ;). Not that there is any footage out there of me putting on a dance routine for the camera. (insert throat clearing here) So, anyway, carrying on, in case you'd like to see the original video they are dancing to here it is...

Growing up we had some old records that we loved to listen to. Stuff like Hair by The Cowsills, Sweet Pea by Tommy Roe and Snoopy vs The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen. But after all these years I had never heard the Christmas version of Snoopy vs The Red Baron, called Snoopy's Christmas! Today we were driving to the Big City and listening to the radio. When I first heard the song come on I was kind of surprised because I don't think I have ever heard Snoopy vs The Red Baron on the radio. But I was even more surprised when I realized the lyrics were different and it was actually a Christmas version! Maybe I'm the last to know about Snoopy's Christmas but I figured I'd share it with you all! So, here it is, Snoopy's Christmas...
