The top had a thin strap and by the time she had gone trick or treating and was inspecting her candy haul it had broken.
Then Big R chose to be Yoda. I bought the mask but made a unisuit out of the tan flannel with a robe to go over the top made from dark brown fleece. Nice and warm!
I think I'm getting pretty good at drafting my own patterns. At least for Halloween costumes. ;)
Earlier in the day we carved pumpkins.
Here are some photos of the party food.
These are tortilla chips dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with fruit salsa.
Then we have regular tortilla chips to go with some of the tomatillo salsa I made this week.
Cheetos Bag of Bones. White cheddar bone shaped puffs.
Eyeball punch. Lime sherbet, pineapple juice, and 7up.
Pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
A disgusting looking brain (with hemorrhage). Made of flan :)
Monster mix: pretzels, kettle corn, candy corn and Reese's Pieces.
Not pictured: I also made beef and pork ribs and smoked sausages. Plus a pitcher of apple pie punch (apple juice, pear nectar, ginger ale and a dash of cinnamon). Some friends brought green enchiladas and carne asada and pollo asado. So yummy! I didn't make the signs in the bowls. Well, I printed them out, cut and put them on the sticks but I didn't design them. I found them on the internet.
Normally every year the kids and I make our creepy creature cookies. I baked the cookies and put out all the supplies for the kids to decorate.
Here are some photos from after dark. The jack o lanterns lit up plus our house.
Unfortunately, it's been windy so most of my tombstones were trying to blow away and I had to take them down. :( But I have a better plan for next year!
I took the all the kids at the party out trick or treating while the other adults stayed in. So all in all it was a great party and super fun. I just love Halloween!
Another thing I did this year is make some zombie dolls. I found a couple dolls at the dollar store and some at the thrift store. Then I painted them up like zombies. They still need a bit more work. Like clothes for the boy ones. I think I'll have to make them. They are apparently too muscular for regular Ken clothes. And more blood spatter. :)
And Mrs. Kitty dressed up for Halloween again. (against her will) She was a banana.
So, I guess that's all for now. Today I'm being lazy and enjoying the drizzly weather. Glad it held off until today, though. Love when we get rain (it's not too often) but trick or treating in the rain isn't too fun. Ok, then, have a wonderful day!
