Hello again! So, I got my fabric washed, cut, and I got 15 blocks done! That means only 20 more units to go.

I think it's going pretty well. I have only had to pick out I think 2 seams and my bobbin only ran out once! Though I was in such a rhythm that I didn't notice until like 10 seams later! LOL I was just chugging along when I happened to notice the pieces weren't being sewn together. I was actually kind of shocked when I discovered how long I hadn't been sewing. I was in the zone. So, I think this quilt top will be done fairly soon. Then it's on to the quilting, which is the time consuming part, especially since I'm going to hand quilt it. I'll try to keep you updated on my progress if I can tear myself away from the sewing machine.
I also got my hair cut today. It REALLY needed it. It's just that I didn't know someone who's good here. My hair is so fine and thin that it needs all the help it can get. I'm afraid to go to just anyone. But my friend and neighbor just got hers cut it looks really good. She recommended the girl who cut her hair. It's very much like I had it at JL and CC's wedding. As a matter of fact, I took in photos of me from the wedding to show her what I wanted. I haven't had a chance to play around with it, yet, to see if I can get the styling right. I might put up pics tomorrow. Well, I'm off to get ready for bed. We're supposed to be going to the big city tomorrow to shop. DH promised DS a new pair of skate shoes. DS has been practicing on his skateboard. DH is suggesting that he might get a board so he can teach DS all the moves. I sure hope he doesn't break a hip or something. DH, I mean. He's not as young as he used to be. Let's hope for the best. Talk atcha later!

UPDATE! The UPS guy came! I got my fabric! Here are a couple pics of my lovely fabric! I'm so excited!
It's not a secret that I have a very special relationship with fabric. Some might call it an obssession. LOL Anyway, at the moment I'm quite impatiently waiting for the UPS guy to deliver my order from Fabric.com. It is supposed to arrive today. I have made a quilt for my son and my hubby already and now I'm going to make one for my daughter. Here are the quilts I made for DS and DH...And I apologize for the poor photos but you get the idea.
The top pic is my son's. It's a pattern called Snail's Trail. The blue one underneath is the one I made for DH to take on his travels. The pattern is called Trip Around the World. Fitting, I thought. I'm going to use this quilt pattern called Lemon Zest but in different fabrics for my daughter. Pinks, purples and greens...
I also couldn't resist some Hungry Little Caterpillar fabric. It is based on the classic book by Eric Carle. I have a quilt pattern picked out for it as well. I don't have an intended recipient for the caterpillar quilt but I just felt that I needed to make one! Who doesn't need a Hungry Little Caterpillar quilt!? If you can keep a secret from my DH I'll tell you that I ALSO ordered a jelly roll of bali fabrics for yet another quilt! Shhh! DH doesn't get my fabric/quilt obssession and he doesn't know (yet) that I bought all this fabric. LOL He'll be sure to complain and tell me exactly how much ammunition he could have purchased with the money I spent on fabric. He just doesn't appreciate fabric the way I do. And you know, my mom sent me an email this morning with a link to another website for quilt fabric! I saw quite a few that really caught my fancy. I must resist...at least until I finish some quilts first.

Hello everyone! My daughter is definitely a character. She's always saying really cute and/or funny things. Like, "This is the best pizza I NEVER had!" Or, "Ants drink up the water so they can STEAM you!" Things like that. So, this morning she tells me that it's cold today. "Really?" I asked. And she replied, "Yeah, it's 60-COLD degrees!" Not 62 or 65 degrees. 60-COLD degrees. LOL In honor of my silly little girl I have 2 layouts. By the way, my mom made that adorable polka dot dress for my daughter for her birthday! Thanks, Mom!

Three in a Row!

Wow! Three posts in a row! I think I may be setting everyone up for disappointment when I start skipping a day, then a couple of days, then a month and then...silence. Well, hopefully it won't get to that point. I was starting to feel like no one wanted to read my blog since there were no comments and no followers or anything. Then I accidentally found myself on the comments moderation page and there were 2 comments for me to approve! Obviously I'm new to this and don't really know what I'm doing. Oh well. At least a couple of people are interested.
I did another layout today. Last night I was checking out JL and CC's blog and I found the cache of photos. So, I helped myself to a few of them. Hehehe! Anyway, here's a photo from their wedding in a layout.
If my OTHER sister sent me a photo or two from HER wedding she just might get one, too. Since I don't have any, I'll post here a layout I did of my adorable nephew Lil B. I LOVE this pic of him!
Well, really I love most pics of him! He's super cute and has quite the personality to go with it. Must take after his favorite auntie-me! LOL

Happy International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, all! I'm not at all sure how one is supposed to celebrate this holiday. I, for one, will NOT be consuming any dog biscuits. But perhaps I'll offer a few to the dog. Not that he'll grasp the significance of such a holiday. He is a dog, after all. And as dogs go, he's not among the brightest I've encountered. Although he does a great job of protecting us from the evil vacuum. Yes, every time I vacuum he barks wildly at it and even bites the thing. Like I said, he's not the brightest dog around. But I guess it could be considered sweet that he is protective enough of us to attack the vacuum to keep us safe. I suppose that should earn him a dog biscuit. Here's a scrapbooking layout I did awhile back.
And I recently did another layout in honor of the love my son has for the dog. In fact, when I asked him who he loved and supplied a list such as myself, his dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and our pets, including our 2 cats and the dog. The only person (animal) that he would admit to loving was the dog. So, I guess that's all for his post. Take care!

Hello all! Ok, so I've decided to join the blogging world. But don't get TOO excited. I will probably be a terrible blogger. I can't promise regular or even frequent posts. But I'll try. Promise.
