Yes, another post from me today! I just wanted to share my bargains that I picked up today. First we have my CVS purchases. I paid out of pocket $12.67. Plus I got $10 in ECB (Extra Care Bucks which are CVS coupons like a gift certificate) AND I can send in for a $5 rebate on the Scrubbing Bubbles/Windex! Then I also stopped by Walgreens. This is what I got.The pile of pink stuff is a scarf, matching hat (in super soft chenille) and a MoMo-sized hooded sweatshirt. I paid a bit more out of pocket ($49.04) but I received $26 in Register Rewards to use on future purchases and there's a $5 rebate on the Dulcolax. So, basically I'm only paying $18 and some change for all that. Pretty awesome, right? I think I've pointed out these blogs before but if you want to try your hand at couponing be sure to check out MavenOfSavin.com and CouponCravings.com. They have all kinds of info, including links to printable coupons, freebies and even have sections on the basics of shopping at different stores (ie. CVS, Walgreens) as each has its own rewards program. Well, I'm off to fill out my rebates so I can send them out while I'm thinking about it and have my receipts handy. Bye!
Alright everyone, I have redecorated yet again. But this time I did it myself! (insert happy dance here) My other blog looks have just been templates that I downloaded which other people had designed. This one I fancied up myself. I designed the header, set the colors, and added the background, tweaking a plain old boring white Blogger template. I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm patting myself on the back right now. I might keep this one awhile. Then again, I'm kind of itching to redecorate again already...it may just be my new obsession...

This is the tale of a brisket. Hubby has been asking me to buy a brisket for some time but the price of a brisket is pretty outrageous if you ask me. I mean, a well done brisket is a wonderful thing. When Hubby and I drove through Texas a couple of years ago, we had some awesome BBQ brisket. But if you don't use the proper technique, that pricey brisket you just bought can be inedible. So, I saw that brisket was on special and decided to get one to BBQ. (It still wasn't what you'd call inexpensive, though.)
Having never actually cooked one myself and dreaming of Texas BBQ brisket, I searched the internet for guidance. Armed with a recipe for a rub, mop, sauce and cooking advice, Hubby got up early this morning to start the brisket, as you need to cook it for 10-12 hours. I had applied the rub beforehand but as I'm still sick and not feeling well, I forgot to make up the mop. Well, I figured that the rub had been on for an extra day so it would be plenty flavorful and we probably didn't really need the mop, anyway. Hubby manned the BBQ and I made up some macaroni salad and bought some french rolls so we could slice up that wonderful brisket and eat like kings. This, however, is what came off the BBQ.
A charred, dried up hunk of meat. That we fed to the dog. And instead we ordered pizza to eat with the tasty macaroni salad I had made.

'Beannachtam na Feile Padraig!'
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Just a quick post. I'm still trying to fight off these germs. Pretty sure it's the flu since I spent the weekend in bed with fever and body aches. I'm over that now but I'm still suffering from a terrible sore throat--so hoarse and my tonsils feel like soccer balls in there. Possibly tonsillitis. I'm going to get that checked out tomorrow. But Hubby's home and so I've been able to rest more than I otherwise would have. (And the house is cleaner since he did some cleaning yesterday.) Needless to say, I haven't done much in the last week. No quilting, no scrapping, no St. Patty's Day crafts with the kids. And I usually make something Irish like lamb stew but instead the Colonel cooked for us. Extra crispy. Last year a leprechaun even visited us but not this year. Well, there's always next year.
Anyway, that's all for now. I'll leave you with this...

May the luck of the Irish
Lead to happiest heights
And the highway you travel
Be lined with green lights.

Wherever you go and whatever you do,
May the luck of the Irish be there with you.

If you’re enough lucky to be Irish...
You’re lucky enough!

May you have all the happiness
and luck that life can hold—
And at the end of all your rainbows
may you find a pot of gold.

May your pockets be heavy—
Your heart be light,
And may good luck pursue you
Each morning and night.

Hello, one and all! Well, I have gotten several FREE (just paid shipping) photo books and now I have one more from Picaboo.com. You, too can get your very own FREE $40 value photo book (just pay $8.99 shipping)! I know that not everyone is a scrapper as I am BUT this website has FREE software that you download and it pretty much does all the work for you. There are different themes which you can choose from such as birthday, baby, etc. You can choose one of those or choose no theme and do it yourself. Then there are a TON of premade templates for the pages. You simply add your photos to the ready made template. Easy! It also has a feature which will automatically add your pictures to the book. Even easier! So, even if you're not a scrapper you can still make a beautiful book. I used layouts I've made and decided to make this book all about MoMo. The book is not square but it was easy to add my square images and it just has a black order (which could have been any color I wanted)on the edges. I placed my order Sunday evening and I just got my book today! That was super fast! It's a really nice hardbound book, too. Here are a couple pics.

So, if you want your very own FREE photobook, here's a link to the site. Click here
Until next time...

For all of you that might be wondering...I decided I needed a new look for my blog. I've had the same look ever since I started it. Well, I take that back. I may have had it just plain white right at the very beginning before I figured how to make it pretty. So, I was kind of bored of the old look. And I'm SO ready for it to be spring already but the weather here is so wishy-washy. Fairly warm one day, snow the next. So I decided I needed to brighten things up and make it more spring-like.
Also, the quilt pattern I'm making right now is called Breaking Waves. It's FREE to download on the Hoffman Fabrics website. Here's a look at it.
In other news, I scored an awesome deal yesterday! I got 10 bottles of Purex laundry detergent plus 2 boxes of Purex 3-in-One sheets for a total of $14.40! And that comes out to just $1.20 per item! At $5.99 each for the liquid detergent and the sale price on the sheets was 2/$9, the retail price comes out to $73.90. So, needless to say, I've got laundry detergent to last for awhile. I also got some Nivea lip balm 2 for 99 cents and a Colgate Total Care toothpaste for 99 cents. Oh, and the other day I went grocery shopping and they had a 5lb bag of frozen Tyson chicken tenders (frozen raw boneless, skinless chicken breast portions) for $6! Of course, I had to get one. They also had a 4lb bag of Tyson breaded chicken nuggets for $3.50. So I had to get that, too. I was just hoping I could find a way to fit it all in my little freezer and after some purging, I did. Yay! It just so happens to be National Frozen Foods Month this month so I hope all of you find some great frozen foods deals, too.
Well, I'm going to go and get some things done. Hopefully I will get to work on my quilt today. Much love to you all!
So, I'm taking a little break from my MT coursework. My head is swimming with the names of muscles! Did you know there are at least 27 different muscles in each of your legs? Fortunately, I don't have to memorize them or their positions and functions (whew!) only their spelling. I only have to be able to recognize the names and be able to correctly spell them in a transcription.
Anyway, I have here some photos of my new fabric!

Paisley!!! You know I LOVE paisley!

As much as I love paisley, though, I think the barnyard prints are my favorites. After finishing that quilt for hubby's grandmother, I have the fever bad. For now, it's all about quilts. I'm working on one for Hubby's grandfather out of bali fabrics. Here's the actual set I'm using. Bali Pops Berry Bliss. I also have another Bali Pops set that I previously purchased. It's Bali Pops Butterscotch. Very yummy!
Well I really ought to get some lunch and get back to my muscles. Next time I hope to have some photos of my current quilt project to share with you. So, until then...

I'm, oh, so excited! My daughter came in to tell me that I had "presents." The UPS man had come by and brought my packages from Fabric.com and Overstock.com! Woo hoo! I got some super adorable quilt fabric AND new sheets for my bed! Hardly anything better than that! I'll take pics to share with you later but for now I better get back to my studying. I'm learning muscles of the neck right at the moment. Pretty soon I'll have to take a break and stretch my real life neck muscles. And back muscles. And leg muscles...And probably admire my new fabric and sheets, too! LOL
